Beaches & coves

Back to Discover Jávea

Jávea has three coastal districts, each with its own character: sandy beach, pebble coast and wild rocky inlets, all within a short distance. The UNIC residence near the harbour is within walking distance of Platja de la Grava and a few minutes' drive from the finest coves on the Costa Blanca.

Platja de l'Arenal

Jávea's only true sandy beach, 480 metres long, with shallow water and a gently sloping seabed. Ideal for families with young children, with beach bars, lifeguards and Blue Flag status.

Platja de la Grava

The harbour cove right next to the UNIC: a quiet pebble beach of around 300 metres with clear, sheltered water and Blue Flag status. Bring water shoes for the pebbles.

Cala Blanca (La Caleta)

Two small rocky inlets just south of the Arenal, with crystal-clear water. Excellent for snorkelling, with no facilities.

Cala Granadella

A cove in a green valley between steep cliffs, with fine pebbles and turquoise water. Voted Spain's most beautiful beach several times. Reached via a paid car park and a short descent.

Cala Portitxol (La Barraca)

More than 900 metres of coastline with white fishermen's houses and limestone rocks. One of the most photogenic spots in Jávea, ideal for snorkelling and kayaking.

Cala Sardinera

A wild pebble inlet at Cap Prim, reached via a walking trail. No facilities, plenty of quiet and clear water for snorkelling.
